High school sophomore Addie Carney earned the win in the 15 & Under goat tying on Mar. 5, 2024, in Fort Worth, earning $1,840 in 20.96 seconds with three consistent and fast runs.
“There was 50 great goat tyers there today,” Carney said. “The competition was tough. I just had to do what I can, be smooth and see where the cards fell.”
The Crockett, Texas, native stays busy. She competes in breakaway roping and team roping, plus plays volleyball and basketball. The goats at The Patriot event matched her style, which she says attributed to her 7.1-second time in Round 1, and matching times of 6.93 in the second and final rounds.
