Rylee Grace Abel went 12.71 on two head in the 2024 Hooey Junior Patriot Semifinals to earn the aggregate win, a grand total of $4,000 and lock in her position to Saturday’s finals
Abel went 6.28 seconds to win the first round of competition to win the round and the $1,500 payout, then followed it with a 6.43 in the second round, worth a fourth-place finish and $500. Her time of 12.71 was enough for the aggregate win in 12.71 ahead of Alli Autrey’s 13.11 on two. Additionally, on another entry, she was 6.64 in Round 1 to earn $500.
“The goat tyers come out of the woodworks for The Patriot,” Abel said. “It’s definitely getting faster and faster out here. The horsepower, the ability girls have to get off their horses, it’s getting faster overall.”
